Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Liquid Birds collects when you use liquidbirds.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices and rights you have. We have tried to keep it plain and short, but it is a legal document, so please read it carefully.
1. Who we are
Liquid Birds ("Liquid Birds", "we", "us" or "our") is a business operated by a sole proprietor in Ontario, Canada. We provide an online service that turns a written or spoken description of a dream into a short AI-generated film (the "Service").
For the purposes of data protection laws, including the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), Liquid Birds is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at privacy@liquidbirds.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Your dream. The text you type or dictate, and the options you choose, such as screen orientation, look and length.
- Voice recordings. If you use the microphone button, your browser records audio only while you are recording. The recording is sent to us so it can be written down as text. We do not keep the recording; see section 7.
- Order details. When you pay, we receive your email address, the order reference, the amount, the currency and the payment status from our payment providers.
- Support messages. If you contact us by email or through the support form, we receive your name (if you give it), email address, message, any attachments and any order reference you include.
Information collected automatically
- Technical and security information. Like most websites, our hosting provider processes your IP address, browser type and similar information to deliver pages and protect the Service. We use a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your IP address to limit abuse; we do not store your IP address in readable form for that purpose.
- Where an order came from. When you review a dream, we save with that order your IP address, your approximate location as estimated from it (country, region and city), your internet provider, the type of device, system and browser you used, your screen size, language and time zone, and how you reached our site (for example a search engine, a social app or a shared film link). We use this to support your order, prevent fraud and understand how people find us. We do not use it to track you on other websites, and we never try to guess personal traits such as your age or gender.
- Visit counts. We count visits to our site anonymously: how many, on which day, and what kind of site sent them (for example a search engine, a social app or a shared film link). No cookie is set and nothing that identifies you, such as your IP address, is kept with these counts.
- Human check. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm that visitors are people and not automated programs. Turnstile processes signals from your browser to do this.
- Browser storage. We store a few small items in your browser so the site works, such as your human check pass and your chosen microphone. See section 10.
Information we do not collect
- We do not receive or store your full card number. Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal under their own privacy policies.
- We do not use advertising trackers, analytics trackers or social media pixels.
- We do not ask for, and you should not include, sensitive information such as health information, government identification numbers or the names of real people in your dream.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- create your shot list and film, show you its progress and deliver it to you;
- check dreams against our content rules (see What we can’t film) before anything is filmed;
- process payments, send receipts, order updates and delivery emails;
- answer your questions and support requests;
- prevent fraud, spam and abuse, keep the Service secure and enforce our Terms of Service;
- fix problems and keep the Service working; and
- meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your dreams, recordings or films to train AI models.
Legal bases (EU and UK). We process your information because it is necessary to provide the Service you ask for (performance of a contract); because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure, preventing abuse and improving reliability, balanced against your rights; to comply with legal obligations such as tax record keeping; and, where required, with your consent, for example when you allow your browser to use your microphone. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. How AI is used
The Service is built on AI. Your dream text, and any recording you dictate, is processed by Google’s AI services to write it down, check it against our content rules, prepare a shot list, translate where needed and generate the film. Our automated checks may decline to film a dream or part of a dream. These checks only decide whether something can be filmed; they do not make any decision with legal or similarly significant effects on you. If you think something was declined by mistake, you can rephrase it or contact us.
When you contact support, we may use Google’s AI to help us draft an answer. Email addresses are removed first, and a person always reads, edits and sends every answer.
We use Google’s services under terms that do not permit Google to use your content to train its models. AI providers may keep content for a limited time to detect abuse, as described in their own terms.
Films are generated by AI and carry an invisible watermark identifying them as AI-generated.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, only for that purpose and under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Cloudflare (website hosting, databases, file storage, email delivery and the human check);
- Google (AI transcription, content checks, shot lists, translation, film generation and film processing on Google Cloud);
- Stripe and PayPal (payment processing and fraud prevention).
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order or a valid government request; to protect the rights, property or safety of Liquid Birds, our users or others; or as part of a sale, merger or transfer of the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
Films you share. Your film page can be opened by anyone who has its link. If you share the link, the people you share it with, and the apps you share it through, can see the film, its title, a still from it and a short one-line summary of the dream written by AI. The dream text itself is never shown. Please share with care.
6. International transfers
We are based in Canada, and our service providers process information in Canada, the United States and other countries. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those where you live. Where the GDPR or UK law applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission’s adequacy decision for Canada and the standard contractual clauses included in our providers’ data processing terms.
7. How long we keep information
- Voice recordings are processed to write down your words and are not stored by us.
- Dreams you don’t order are deleted automatically, normally within 24 hours, and at most within 7 days if a checkout was started but not completed.
- Films and the dreams they were made from are deleted from the Service 30 days after the film is ready, including the title, shot list and prompts. Copies held by our cloud providers are removed shortly after. If an order fails, its dream is deleted 30 days later. Please download your film if you want to keep it.
- Refunded films. If, in a rare case, a delivered film is refunded, we may keep the film itself, without your dream description, name, email address or anything else that identifies you, and use it as described in our Terms of Service.
- Order and payment records (such as your email address, the name given with your payment, order reference, amount and date) are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require, generally up to seven years.
- Support messages are kept for as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of what was agreed, and are then deleted.
- Abuse prevention counters, based on scrambled IP addresses, are deleted within a few days.
- Where an order came from: the IP address, city, map location, internet provider and full browser details are deleted 30 days after the order. The country, region, type of device, system and browser are kept, without anything that identifies you, to count how people use the Service.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct information that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information, including your dream and film before the 30 days are up;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing; and
- withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To make a request, email privacy@liquidbirds.com from the address you used for your order and include your order reference if you have it. To protect your privacy, we may need to confirm that the request comes from you before we act on it. We will respond within the time the law requires, normally within 30 days. We may keep information we are legally required to keep, such as payment records.
You will not be treated differently for using your privacy rights.
9. Region-specific information
Canada
We handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
European Economic Area and United Kingdom
In addition to the rights in section 8, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in the country where you live or work, or, in the UK, with the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first, so please contact us.
California and other US states
Residents of California and other US states with consumer privacy laws have the rights described in section 8, including the right to know, delete and correct personal information and the right not to be discriminated against for using these rights. In the last 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in section 2: identifiers (such as email address and hashed IP address), commercial information (order details), internet activity (technical and security information), audio information (dictation recordings, which are not stored) and the content you submit. We collect it for the purposes in section 3 and disclose it only to the service providers in section 5. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give you a right to limit it. Because we never sell or share personal information, Global Privacy Control and similar opt-out signals are honoured automatically. You may use an authorized agent to make a request; we may ask for proof of the agent’s authority and verify your identity.
10. Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use your browser’s storage only for things the site needs to work: keeping your human check pass for your visit, remembering your chosen microphone, keeping the progress timer and log for your order, and keeping your typed dream if the page needs to reload. Cloudflare may set cookies that are strictly necessary for security and the human check. You can clear this storage at any time in your browser settings; some features may then need to start again.
11. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), limit access to personal information to the people who run Liquid Birds, and use reputable providers with strong security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities where the law requires it.
12. Children
The Service is only for people aged 18 or older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, for example with a notice on the website. Your continued use of the Service after a change means the updated policy applies.
14. Contact us
